Reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a manual therapy that involves using gentle touch and pressure on specific points of your hands, feet, or ears. It is believed that these areas are connected to other regions in the body, allowing for an improvement in symptoms such as easing of stress and improved energy.

According to WebMD, “Some people with medical conditions find that they feel less pain and discomfort if they have less stress, and reflexology may help with that. Researchers reviewed 17 studies of the psychological benefits of the therapy and found that it boosted feelings of well-being and made it easier for people to manage their conditions.”

Reflexology can help treat:

  • Edema and water retention

  • Digestive health for adults and infants/children

  • Fertility and pregnancy

  • Women's health and hormones

  • Headaches and stress tension

  • Sleep disorders

  • ADHD in adults and children

  • Overall circulation with cold hands and feet

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Infants struggling with latching and physical tension due to birth trauma

Treatment

To start off, your reflexologist will assess your hands or feet for any physical conditions that may hinder my ability to provide you with a full session. They will then begin by stretching and massaging your hands or feet to prepare them for the pressure point techniques.  You'll be seated in a comfortable reclining chair with soft ambient music of your choosing.  You can rest or talk during the session, whichever you prefer — your practitioner will follow your lead. You may feel sweaty, chilly, or fall asleep during the session.  The session is meant to bring you comfort, so please always let your reflexologist know how you’re feeling.

Kristina Fridman

Kristina Fridman is a Registered Reflexologist and Reiki Practitioner in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge Region.

“I've always known the profound impact that Reflexology and light-work can have on the body, but it wasn't until I consistently sought its practice, that I realized I wanted to be a part of it. I want to help people. I want others to know that they deserve to rest and relax, and that calming the parasympathetic system and stimulating the correct pressure points is what allows our body to heal.”

Her approach is a combination of both eastern and western methods. She is a positive, energetic, and caring practitioner, and will support you through each of your sessions
